Atlas Mavros Ultra Turntable Audio Cable
Based on Atlas's highly regarded Mavros interconnect, this Mavros Tonearm Ultra RCA is an extremely low-noise cable specifically designed for the very low signal output levels of phono catridges in ‘high-end’ vinyl replay.
Engineered to achieve maximum signal transfer with minimum susceptibility to tthe spurious RF and EM interference which pervade our homes, the Mavros Tonearm Ultra presents an extremely low background noise floor, allowing maximum expression of dynamics, depth and subtlety.
The Mavros Tonearm Ultra RCA uses the very highest quality ‘6N’ (99.99997% purity) copper manufactured using the OCC ‘Ohno Continuous Cast’ technique combined with a foamed PEF dielectric covered by a discrete continuous copper/Mylar™ electrostatic screen with copper shielding braid for each channel.
The cable assembly demonstrates Atlas's customary focus on minimising breaks and offering maximum continuity in the signal path.
In practice, this means key components in the signal path are OCC copper throughout, including the signal pins at each end of the cable. Termination is with the low mass, high bandwidth, cold-weld Ultra RCA connectors. This approach, rather than the more typical combination of different metals and variable elements in soldered connections, minimises the information losses which occur at different ‘break points.’
The cable is supplied with a separate ground cable with spade earth tags.
The 5 pin tonearm plug is precision-turned and hard gold-plated. Cable entry is from either the side (90° right angle entry) or from the base (straight entry), please specify your requirement when ordering.

Ultra RCA Plug
The Ultra is a wide-band, OCC copper, constant impedance, self-cleaning, solder-free construction RCA plug. In Atlas' cables, the conductor to plug interfaces are solder free, and the gold-plated conjugate brackets act as the return signal path, helping to reject RFI. Both conjugate brackets (these grip the cable without the adverse effects of compressing it, which can alter impedance) have two asymmetrical leaves which spring open on insertion and wipe clean the signal path. To maintain a clean signal path, simply remove and re-insert them periodically.
The Ultra RCA connectors utilise low-mass non-magnetic connectors to minimise the negative effect of excessive metal in the plug itself.
